old mans just brought a mint jet black fully restored body wise but with a couple of issues, one we fixed today, every time we go out he loses all lights, and i mean all!! traced this back to an abortion of wiring and so on, finaly a bad earth on indicator at front seemed to be guilty, but the main issue is the heater.

it wont pull out, looked under bonnet the plunger / valve thing and it seems siezed we drowned it in wd40 minis best friend but wont ease up, does anyone know any top tips or what we need to replace? ta

" Old man " indeed - not sure I would fancy that - does he ? Will you when you get older ??
If the valve won't shift - get a new one . Fiddling with the old valve may just result in a nasty leak.

Is it the metal valve or the plastic sort? How many cars can you point at when the heater isn't working and say: "I just need this bit" instead of taking the whole dash apart etc etc lol If you need to back up and spending on the mini, just remind the person who is saying its costing too much that a brand new windscreen for a mini is £40 and an OEM exhaust is £35 lol also remind them that it uses no fuel compared to a modern car, so its paying for itself in not using fuel as you drive it :D and a set of new spark plugs cost £6 a set instead of about £20

P.S. Don't forget to buy a new gasket for it as well! I didn't and it leaked lol oops!

wish my dad was into minis :D. he calls mine (also a jet black) the third Mrs Best. (Best being his sirname obviously).

He says it costs as much to run, is as unreliable and just as loud too.

good luck with the fix by the way.
