Hi, I have not been on the forum since last year as not been too good and now unfortunately need to sell both my minis as I have been diagnosed with MS and need to try and get some money together as have had to leave my job. This is my 1967 Morris Mini Cooper, twin carb, 47,000 miles on original engine with 3 previous owners. The last owner spent a fortune on "The old git" as he is affectionately called. He owned it since 1998 and had the following restoration work carried out:

Bodywork: new roof, floor, interior arches/flitches, wings, bonnet, boot lid
Engine reconditioned, gearbox recondition, clutch replaced, sub-frame replaced, radius arms replaced, cones replaced, shock absorbers replaced
Electrical: new loom, starter motor, halogen lights, installed electronic ignition, lucas spot lampes (circa 1967)
Interior: leather front and rear seats taken from a Paul Smith Ltd Edition in blue with cream piping, sold walnut dash & console with smyths clocks, carpets, sound-proofing, roof lining, steering wheel
New Minilite wheels and Yokohomas tyres.

Starts on the button and sounds amazing. Just fitted new battery and now runs even perkier.

I would really appreciate if anyone could give me any ideas as to its worth please? I was hoping for around £4,000 but really do not have any idea in this climate. There is no rust apart from on the lower part of the "A" panels. The paintwork is lovely and the interior has been very tastefully done with a lot of time and love gone into it. Quite a practical little classic as the soundproofing really does help to give the noise down.

Here are some pics:

Sorry to hear about your MS mate.
I would say that your car would reach the £4k mark even in this climate. Just have to advertise well and find the right buyer. Wish ya all the luck!
I know if i had 4k kicking around then i would be the first to put in an offer

theres alot of non standard bits on it for that era, modern seats and stuff.

Finding the right buyer, it will go for a good price.

Others may not like or want the interior etc.

PS. A proper bung or bolt rather then a pipe with a spark plug in the end, would improve the engine bay

Probably 4k if it had the original interior trim, steering column, lost the bonnet stripes, but that's my opinion..

Best place for that would be US ebay.

Its a replica, nothing wrong with that imo, looks nice minis are still fetching money.

is it a replica or is it a genuine cooper?
If its a genuine Cooper it will have a Value because that but as others say the modern Updates dont do it any favours

You would have to find other Coopers of the same age, condition, etc and guage what a modernised/modified one will fetch price wise and what and original one would fetch?

Have you still got all the original interior bits? That could make it more attractive to a buyer if you included the correct interior with it ;)G

yer agreed, seem to make mega bucks with all the original bits.

just things i notices, i'm no expert.

mk1 doors and windows, but late boot lid and late heater/steering stalks, early shells have extra guttering around the sides of the roof. what does the V5 say, does its match the shell.

nothing wrong with a personlized mini still looks great, just orginals fetch more money.

thank you all so much...I know its not original but in my opinion the interior does suit the car and looks tasteful...the dash is really lovely and the roof lining and seats just add to the charm...I have just been offered £3k from a car dealer in relation to a new car for the driving instructing but would rather sell if private and get near the £4k if poss...really hard to tell its value....I would go on fleabay and say would consider part-ex for modern car but will no doubt get eejits!!!

just to clarify if the engine number and chassis number match on V5 and car it is considered a genuine cooper? as this one does match but obviously new panels etc?
