i have just got my first mini and recently put 5/12 superlight deep dish on, they rub the front wing when turning the steering, i have adjustable tie rods and adjustable bottom arms, the front end sits low and i have hi lows fitted, does anyone know how to adjust them?

i have adjusted the tie rod so they clear (just!!) but not sure thats the best result i can get.

any help would be great

The mini adjustable system is very simple, just undo the locknut on the upright, wind the fixed nut up how much you need, apply some copper grease then re-tighten the locknut. JOB DONE.

I would try to sort out you problem this way rather than adjusting the tie rod which will effect your castor and steering self centering effect.

some more advice is you shouldnt just adjust you tie bars willnilly as this will have drastic effects in the handling and will need setting up properly in the future.

:) get some pictures up mate :dontgetit:

Have you cut the front edge of the wheels arch out to allow for the 5 1/2 x12's. Anything over 5x12 will need the arch modifying. Shouldn't go adjusting suspension set up to compensate.

as said above, you need to cut out part of the wing for the wheels to have clearance. if you haven't already. If you just make it higher it'll scrub and catch when cornering hard or going over bumps.

have same problem with 5x12's catching arches,
is there any adjustments i can make before i get the grinder out,as it's close to chrome arches aswell;
only need about an inch clearance,is there such a thing as spacer for suspension?
fitted wheels for missus'40th,got to get it sorted
cheers
