Afternoon all

I bought a MG alloy throttle body today, its 48mm in size but the Connection for the throttle linkage is not the same as the MPI one.

I thought I was being a smarty and would remove the spindle from the MPi one and then use that on the alloy throttle unit.. but NO lol

There is a away to do this and get it working, I have seen it before but can't find the website with the diagram and descriptions. Can anyone shed sum light or with pictures would be ace.

Cheers

Mike

i will get on it as soon as pos, i have been busy installing watercooling in my pc, so havent had time, basicaly you take the bit that holds the cable on the mini one, and weld it to the end of the shaft of the dellorto tb. also you need to make a new limiter.

that is roughtly what I thought.

I am guessing you remove the plastic cable guide etc that was used for the MG as it fouls on the fuel rail.

Think I will get the dremmle out and get cracking

OK I butchered the MG throttle body today.

I you all know what the throttle body looks like so I will not bore you with the before picture. Plus I never took one

I used the dremmle to remove the arm where the throttle cable goes, it took about 5-10 minutes to carefully cut away till I got this

Then i had a spare cable attachment of my old plastic Throttle body, then took of the stopper like so

Then I offered it up to the throttle body like so, i lined up the hole on the throttle attachment with the oval shape on the MG throttle body

Only issue is the mig welder wold not fuse them together, so I think I will need to get it tig welded. so need to find sumone with an tig wleder.

This should work in therory

sorry for the crappy pics, my iphone only has 2mega pixle
