ive been researching into mini kits for the past 3 weeks now. Ive been on many forums and fan sites, aswell as youtube which has helped but not to much. I know about zcars they sent me a dvd about their kits for the minis. But in my opinion at the moment zcars is just to much for me not that i dont like them though. I would just need to take out a loan of 10k or more. I dont even have a classic mini yet but will purchase one i hope in the future.
Anyhow heres the question
whats the fastest engine to get for quickest 0-60 & whats there times?
hayabusa engine
honda vtec type r engine
Yamaha R1 engine
the reason i ask this is becuase all i care about is what will be quickest. I dont mind about top speed or BHP i just want the quickest engine of the line. I would also like to know if any of u know about companys in the Uk that will install a mini kit for you, becuase im no mechanic and i dont have alot of time on my hands to do it myself. So are there any companies that put in the kits into your mini for you. Are there any places other then zcars that install hayabusa engines or is that the only place.
Also say ive got a classic mini. How much would it cost on a budget, the tighest one to get a kit installed?
I have seen the watsons ralley FWD vtec mini kits and they look nice, just not sure if they will be as quick as the bike engines?

any of these engine swaps will deliver mad speed nonetheless...
have you ever driven a well tuned 1275??

if you can't do anything yourself then there nothing "budget" about any engine swap.
IMO the cheapest would probably be Promotive R1 conversion as its almost a bolt in swap.
you'ed be better off buying a mini already converted.
just out of interest, how old are you and what cars have you owned/driven?

basically if your doing this yourself, take your budget, add half and then a bit more for good measure
I have just finished my mini project and I budgeted for around a 3K rebuild, and I estimate after selling and buying parts its at least 6k

you're looking at £3-4k minimum in parts plus labour @ £50-60 per hour pay someone to do a budget build.

thanks for the feedback. yeh i do like the promotive r1 just not sure if the r1 is fast enough, is there anyway to increase the r1 bhp to 200 or so?.
i would mainly use the mini as a every day car which is why i want a FWD mini kit. i kinda need the boot and back seats for other people as its more practicle.
my previous cars have been a 1.1 fiat scicento and i currently own a 1.4 16v clio which is no that great. i am 22 years old.

I'd go A-series turbo. Carefully built, it could cost less than £2k and with a moderate 150bhp will get you to 60 in under 6 seconds, do 40mpg and will be reliable.

however i suspect if you mannaged to lay your hands on one you would wrap it and yourself arround a tree. (i cant stress enough this is not meant as an insult and only my oppinion given your previous cars)
nor has this anything to do with your age i am 22 myself
i have been lucky enough to have driven a lambo gallardo, evo 9, rs2000 and plenty other fast front wheel drive cars, only the rs2000 comes anywere near being as much fun and lairy on the limit as my (rather tame compaired to what your looking at) 1340cc track set up clubman.
if you do go this route i'd seriously advise some sort of driving course if all youve driven is the clio and seicento.
ps this would be better posted in another topic than tecnical problems
