if you are reshelling a car you are not scrapping it, dont get confused.

you are just changing shells, the car is not being scrapped, you can only scrap a car if you atually take it apart yourself ( i know you will be but i mean more like the people that drop the car off at the scrappy and try to fill in the scrapped part of there logbook, check the small print)

as you are mearly reshelling just apply for your logbook.

Before you do anything get that V5 a mate restored a car and was in exactly the same boat as you. He kept in contact with the chap who was supposedly looking for the V5 but it never appeared. When he finished the car he applied for the V5 only to have the police turn up and seize the car as it had been reported stolen by guess who, yep you guessed it. Apparently this car had been doing pass the parcel without the V5 ever being handed over. My mate never had a leg to stand on even with all the evidence and corespondance he provided. He lost everything he had put into it.

Get that V5!
