Hi there

This is going to sound a daft question but I am looking at a fibreglass Bonnet, and Its a single skin.

I don't really want to fit bonnet pins on the rear but I am happy to fit a black bonnet strap on the front to secure it at the front.

My question is it ok to make and bond on two hinge mounts to the underside to attach it to the existing bonnet hinges.

At present my currentg bonnet is a bitty rubbis, its a lot out of shape and also the internatl bonnet release is goosed and I was looking at doing away with it and fitting a black leather strap at either side.

I produce light weight carbon bonnets and for those who want it I bond two pieces of 2 inch aluminum angle in the appropriate locations and with the holes/slots to line up with the hinges. It works great and hasn't been a problem even with race applications. I use a template to locate the brackets but you just need to make sure the locations are good.
