i have just finished my 998 supercharger project and it is running brilliant i have got my hands on another mini city :P and i am after making up my own kit to run a motorbike engine in the front but side ways instead because i like the look of the engine this way and i feel it will be easyier to work on once on ramps

doing this does it make it so i cant have it front wheel drive?

I like this idea personally, retain some mini-ness

I'd like to see a bike engined mini which is kitted out like a real car instead of a formula 1, to be honest.
You know, sound system, cobra classics,a DASH, etc...
I suppose when you pay that much for your bhp/tonne you want to squeeze every last bit out of it...

I wonder is a Hayabusa in a mini is more reliable than an A-Series?

Hmmm chap above, roofless, no roof but has a R1 engine, comfy seats, dash, stereo etc IIRC. Yes, I think you will have to go RWD, but stand to be corrected also!!

Because of the way the bike engines output shaft exits the side of the gearbox you will almost certainly have the have the engine sideways in the car to acheive fwd.

However, if you have the engineering skill and creativity not to mention a bucket load of cash i'm sure anything is possible!

erm, mini magazine May 2009 edition :ermm:

the front engined rear wheel drive variant I saw was bright yellow, made with the assistance of a locost style kit car manufacturer / assembler ??
