Hey all, I'm after some veneer.

Most veneer you can buy on the internet is coincidentally only tree width but i need something wider. I've heard that they sometimes roll it off the tree with one huge blade if you like, which makes a super long roll.

I'm just after something with an interesting grain and doesnt cost the world.

Cheers,

Jono.

What do yo want a superwide piece for?? The usual method is to book match it so you use multiple pieces which have the reverse grain of each other.

I want a wide piece to have a scemeless finish in the wood. What im building is going to be a metre wide or so, so it doesnt have to me miles wide, just wider than your average tree .

if you want something a meter wide you need to run the veneer grain the other way, the length of a piece of veneer is dependent on the length of the piece its cut from not the width of the tree, it just means the grain would run horizontally not longitudinally. I still think book matching would be they way to go and when done well looks completely seamless
