Hello,

I'm trying to fit a lower rear repair panel on a mini with no boot floor and i'm not sure what size the boot aperture should be. Could someone take some measurements of the boot aperture for me. It's driving me mad now and really can't figure out how it should best fit.

Cheers

George.

You'd be much better off fitting a boot lid first and then positioning the repair panel to match. If the panel is only a couple of mm out the shut line is going to look awful, and that's assuming you manage to get the gaps even and not lower on one side than the other. I've also found out that not all boot lids are the same size so you should find the boot lid you intend to use and use that as your jig.

Having said all that the height of my boot aperture measures 44cm precisely across 80% of the width. This measurement was taken down the centre line of the boot and also from above the hinge fixing holes (holes closest to the car centre line). There is quite a generous radius on the panel and it's difficult to be precise where the dimension is taken from. If it was me I'd really fit the lid first.

Thanks a lot for that 44cm is exactly what i worked out. I'm using a fibreglass boot lid which needs some trimming so i wasn't 100% sure the boot lid was right. My gaps look good at 44cm with the boot lid so i'm happy with that.

Thanks again for your help.

I guess with fiberglass you get the option of filing to fit.
Good luck with it.
