Hi,

Right I've tried the search function and not found any definitive answers to this, I have a standard 1995 SPi Cooper and I'm about to fit a new thermostat but I'm unsure whether to fit the 82 degree or the 88 'stat? I live in Jersey so the car will unfortunately be subjected to fairly short journeys.

I have read that it is important that the vehicle runs at the right temp as the ECU has certain parameters set based upon a certain working temp but what thermostat is best to use for my application I'm still unsure of.

Is it? I told a supplier what I had so he sent an 82, I have an 88 so I'll fit that.
