Hello,

I've read through that very handy guide about how to install ICE but I am still a bit confused. If someone could clarify this situation then I'd really appreciate it!

I have absolutely no ICE in my car at the moment. I believe there are some wires left around from the previous owner's sound system but no equipment. If I buy this

Argos - JVC iPod Cd Player

and these

two 10cm speakers

is that all I need (apart from buying an ISO connector). Or do I need to buy an amplifier as well?

Thanks, this is a complete new area to me and I really want to get some music in my mini!

Hi
you would only need an amplifier if you want to put a sub in to the car.

The stereo that you have chosen will fit fine, as long as you can get a standard iso plug wired into the car. The speakers will do the job too. You shouldnt need anything else.

I would advise against having just the two 10cm speakers in there, it wouldn't be up to much sound-wise, personally I have 6x9s in the rear shelf and 10cm speakers up frot, other people will tell you different but it does sound good. If you're only wanting 1 set of speakers then 6x9s or a decent set of components are the way to go.

Another thing is that some 6x9s sound crap unless they're amped, I use Infinity Reference ones and they sound great off the head unit.

Most importantly though if your going down the rout of 6"x9" make sure there 3 way... other wise your better off with a set of 6.5".
