Hi,
I haven't found any topics on the forum about 7 inch, double-din head units.
I was just wondering if anyone had any pics or anything before I go ahead and buy one!
I wanted the stereo, sat-nav and all to be in one place, and considered buying one, but wanted to see what they looked like on the dashboard!
Any pics would be greatly appreciated!

In the dashboard, now that would be interesting, seen a couple of pics of them in centre consoles but don't know where, don't know if a 7" screen would look right in a dash though and i don't think it'd fit anyway due to the bulkhead.. Do put some pics up if you do it though :)

I had a quick go of putting the double din pioneer unit out of my van into the mini before i put my flip out one in, i think it's a bit tight on space at the top of the dash with the way the bulkhead slopes in upto the top dash rail and woul end up sticking right out, which is a shame as it would have looked nice.

You could always make a frame and fiberglass it all up. Send it off to retro retrims and get it all cover it vinyl and some nice seam stitching, bit of piping.
Hmmmm, I've got an idea for my car!

That is a real shame!
I was so keen on shoving one in there! :/
Time to re-think! I'm not the handiest of people you see!
I didn't really want to go for a flip out screen, but I guess that's my only option! Hmm..
Thanks anyways guys! Greatly appreciated!
(If anybody does actually manage to do this, and makes it look good, please let me know, or post a picture or something! :P)

Could always put it in a centre console? Thatd look sweet and probably more 'original' as far as 7" screens in Minis go...

i have this in mine i have added a picture it is not touch screen but i ran a 360 throught it but will put playstation 2 in the mini. i have fitted alsorts of cars with 7inch screens and this was by far the easiest. i usually get headrest screens which can be removed and stick the back plate to were every i want it and then fiberglass. i have included one i put in a saxo.

Here's my current set up, although I'm ditching this stereo and getting a single din Alpine jobby...

Will post some pics soon when the new stereo arrives (hopefully tomorrow!)

Sam.

I bought a double din stereo to fit into the dash but changed my plans. It's the same as the one above, it's for sale if any one is interested.

Instead I fitted a single din stereo that has a larger front with a 4" screen. Its touch screen, dvd, sat nav, sd etc. The best part is that the front comes off and it just looks like a standard cd player. I can get pictures if anyone wants to see what it looks like. The front sits flush with the dash.

I'm rather interested in both of those! What sort of money are you looking for? And do they both have sat nav?
I've decided to mount it in my centre console! (At the top, not bottom.. Surely it wouldn't be as easy to see/use?!

On mine I am not running saT nav just having playstation 2 in rear pocket, so it can play DVDs. It cost around 40 pound for the screen and I put it in myself. I am goin to spray it black as I do not like the vynal.

I've listed the Eonon stereo in the classifieds section if your looking for a double din stereo.
