only speaking from experience on the compressor front and this may be total rubbish ;D
But I'd look for something around 3hp biggest tank you can afford and go for a beltdrive one.

I had a 3hp 50 litre direct drive and it was so noisey, my latest is 150 litres 3hp belt drive and its so much quiter.

I don't think it really matters about the airgun I saw a few at a market for about £7 but again thats a market.
My dad bought an electric pump there but that didn't work lol.
Not sure about air compressors though depend what you want and how much you want to pay.
You should look on B & Q thats where my dad was gonna get one.

Depends what you want to do.

If you want to spray 2pk paint then you need a 3hp 13-14cfm unit to supply the gun and mask.

you want a 15 ltr compressor no less. The motor on such a beast will be equal to its capacity and handle most if not all workshop tooling especialy spray guns.

As for the srpay guns, for 2K get a Sealey which is a coppy of a desoto or a Star which is a copy of a Divlybliss. Get gravity fed as they use less air are more compact and are way easier to clean.

its DeVilbiss
but yeah same as what Mr Joshua said. i started with a clarke gravity feed for about £25 and used that for years and was fine but now it more for other people and gettin a really good finish out the gun ive just got another iwata gun. you want about a 1.4 nozzle to start with or a 1.3... 1.3's are better for final finish but it ya just leanring u'll be fine with a 1.4 mines a 1.3 for final coat then ive got a 1.6 for primer but it doesnt matter what you use for primer just get it on.
most guns are HVLP now (high velosity low preasure ) so you dnt really have to look for specific ones anymore.
sealey do a few good gravity feeds for the money just have a shop about see what you can get!.lol

I assume you mean 150litre instead of 15?

some examples of compressor which would be up to the job, dont waste your time with a small hobby one if your serious about spraying ect get something capable,im not up on my regulators/spray guns so cant offer advice there but im sure you can find a decent used compressor (even a old one)just because it's new and shiny does'nt mean its good lol,i would pay £150 for a decent used one and that would be cheap

something like this would be better... http://www.halfords....tegoryId_165727

however even then i would want a tank at least twice the size otherwise the annoying drone of the pump constantly going would annoy the hell out of you!

Machine Mart do loads of compressors, just buy the best/biggest hp and air tank you can afford. Remember you will also need an in line filter and rubber airline and push/snap fixings, all available from MM. Where you buy your paint should also be able to supply you with a spec sheet on thinning ratios, pressures etc for the type of paint you're using, remember though that 2 pack paint is really poisonous and really should only be used with an air feed mask, but thats up to you!!! I think the deadly isocyanite based paint used in the car industry is being phased out due to enviromental issues fairly soon anyway to make way for more healthy water based types so that should help the amateur car painter live longer!!
