I know there a good fit and look really nice and you can get into the back easily but I don't know about using harnesses with them.

would it be safe to run standard seat belts with these i mean like wouldnt have to change anything because i really want to stick to the classic look

it is safer to run the standerd seat belts with these seats than a 4 point harness. if you do run a harness it should be a 3 point harness.
This is because there arnt any holes to hold the two sholder straps in place, like on full height bucket seats, so in a crash they can slip off. This is far less likly to happen with the 3 point harness.

I've had 4 point harnesses with mine, and they do slip off the shoulders and force you down into the seat so you slouch. in all honesty not something I'd recommend. Thus I bought some new seats but if you want some classic buckets cheap I've got a pair... *shameless advertising*

You should get a medal for that!! LOL

I've got cobra classics and yes I think if you used a 3 point harness it would be alot safer!

Or just use a normal seat belt.


Also get ones with head rests!!

try the cobra calssic cs, side holes and a headrest for harness holders on the side.

Sorry for going off subject but ive just bought some of these seats but cant get them to fit onto the car, i think there is a bracket missing from the front of the subframe which mounts them onto the front of the cross member, can anyone help? Pic included if any help? thanks

I have got some brown leather with cream piping for sale in mint condition aswell

jt89 : i am sure i have the same frames as you, but have not fitted them yet, is the bit you are talking about not just the two small legs underneath the pull to make the seat go back and forward?
And also i have heard that you may have to cut this down a little bit as it may be to low a seat position.

Yeah i needed the brackets that fit the frame to the car, they fit onto the 2 legs that point down towards the floor with the holes in, i have sorted some out now, managed to get hold of some on ebay.I haven't got round to fitting them yet though, im hoping I wont have to cut them down when I do.

The brackets you needed are just the standard fitment to the car, which is why Cobra don't supply them.

I suspect you will need to cut the legs down. Try them at the full height first, but most people find this too high. Then cut to the second hole and try again. If it's still too high, cut to the top hole and all should be well.
