

Crankcase Breather ?

HEY ALL HOW DO YOU FIT A CRANKCASE BREATHER ??? TO A 1996 ROVER MINI SPRITE 1.3 SPI ??? HELP PLEASE

Well it should already have 2. One on the timing cover and another on the transfer case. Don't you have those?

It should be fitted.
Do you mean the little breathers that pop ontop of the breather cannisters.

Then all you need to do is remove the pipes from the air box (im guessing they just go straight into the airbox on an SPI) and fit the new breather filters to the breathers on the engine.

+ block the holes in the air box where the breathers used to go into and buy some gunk to clean the oil vapour off your engine

To be honest, after fitter the breathers on my 998, i didn't really notice any oil vapour. Or if there was any, the only place it was was round the side of the rocker cover right next to the breather.
Alternativly you could run tubes from the breathers to a ctach tank. I might look at doing this myself in the future...

I'm going to be doing this soon. Don't know whether to just stick a silly filter on the catch tank, or on the end of a pipe away from the engine or to run it back into the carb...
