Okay, I can probably get an answer on here quicker than I can go out to the car, remove the grille and unscrew the filter so I can see the code. Also it hasn't stopped raining here for what seems like a month..

But anyway, can anyone tell me what oil filter I need for a Metro 1275 engine? Is there just one type of filter on engines after 1974 as the Haynes manual says? An engine swap was done some time ago and I don't know what year it is or even if it's an MG.

And I know not to buy one for a K-series!

Thanks

As long as it's an A or A+ series with a spin-on filter THIS should be the one you'll need if it is a Metro unit. Otherwise it's probably THIS one

Other wise you've got an early A series with a paper filter in a metal case or a Late MPi with a filter that screws directly into the block...

Well it's not a paper type and it's not an MPI either. I'm also pretty sure that all Metros are A+ which narrows it down a bit. Would the best way be to take the filter off and look at the pattern of the holes on the inside, or do I need to drain the oil first?

Hate to almost JACK a thread, but anyone know the "FRAM" filter number for a MINI 1000?

Don't know if you all have FRAM in the UK but in NA they are a pretty substantial company but do not list a number for a mini.

Would be good to know incase I need to stock up on filters.
