hiya,
the outside collar on the brake that attach to the pedals, has siezed itself to the inside shaft.
So the brake makes the clutch pedal move, i personally dont have a trouble with it as its not enough to cause any trouble, but Mr MOT man was'nt happy.
No i thought i would undo the nut and slide the shaft out...NO no that would be too easy.
However hard i hit the thing with a hammer the shaft will not budge,
Has any one got any ideas on how to
Remove the Shaft
OR
Free the bedal so it doesnt interact with the clutch.

Before I continue, This was just a thought, which I don't think is the best idea but I'll say anyway as it seems simple enough.. could try wedging one of the pedals with a block of wood then stepping down on the other, which might force it free to rotate on the shaft.
Thought this was a bad idea though as the pedal box may break elsewhere with the extra force your trying to put through it or just as bad you put too much weight on the wood and buckle your toeboard.
or am I thinking too sensibly?

I tried that one, and it moves, but the second i take the chuck away it starts moving the clutch pedal again. I really do think the only way is to move that shaft out, i just cant get it to budge..

I'm not sure you can rotate the shaft, is the pear shaped bit on the other end moving? If it is seized I think you'd need the pedal box off to get some heat and oil at it.
