Fuel Pipe Size?

A nice simple question for people who know cars, when wanting to know what fuel pipe to buy size what do i measure? the actualy diameter of the whole pipe or just the hole part?

if you want to know the internal diameter of fue pipe best way is measure something you want it to go onto..i.e slide over.. thats how there measured on the packageing.. most mini pipes are 6mm

So if i want to replace a rubber bit the fuel pipe to the carb what size would i want? 1984 austin mini city E, or am i just best to take the actually pipe i have already to a shop?

Probably 1/4". Some of the forced induction boys use 5/16" though.

A pipe (ie the metal fuel pipe) is always defined by its external diameter.
A hose (ie the rubber fuel hose) is always defined by it's internal diameter.
Therefore you need a 1/4 inch pipe and a 1/4 inch hose !!!!
