Speeding Penalties...

They say they got photos of me & Matilda doing 50mph in a 40 zone on the way home from work on the 28th July.
They're probably right.
Fing is, I didn't know there was a camera there. I fink it may be new. Which means I may have been clocked 6 times since.
Which means no licence.
Do you think it's likely that they'll process all the misdemeanours?

Have they offered you a conditonal offer? 3points + £60 fine?
You could always go back and see if the road as the camera signs on, and if not, maybe contest it on that reason.

someone may know more about the legalities of this, but pretty annoying
i find average speed cameras are the ones that actually slow people down. if the authorities really cared about safety you think they would use those?
maybe im just paranoid

there one county that turned them off altogether !

We have signs which tell you how fast your going, normally green until you go over 30 they turn red...its not uncommon I see people coming up to the sign flooring it to see how high there score is.
But seriously I've been busted for speeding this month as well and I understand how annoying and ripped off you feel. Enquire about speed awareness courses, I think they cost around £90 but you get NO points, so your insurance wont increase. Oh and the benefit of being a "safer" driver

weve changed the design of these so that when you go above say 40 in a 30 limit you get an unhappy face... we found when numbers were left displaying you would get idiots going 60+ in school 20mph zones

I don't feel annoyed or ripped off. It's a fair cop mate. I was speeding. I'm just worried that I may have made the same mistake repeatedly over the past two weeks on the same stretch of road and I might have to part with my licence. And Matilda.....

no definately not. maybe if youre female they might? They will surely take pity on you because you're a mini driver! Police do, do that right?
normally you'll get something within 14 days, assuming you havent got anything in the post already? a policeman gave me mine, for doing 91mph in my cooper.

I'd get to the stretch of road ASAP and look for a reason to get out of it. See if there's speed camera warning signs, adequate speed limit signs, and try work out where and how they actually got you.
Because they might come along first thing monday morning and stick up a speed camera warning sign and you'd never know it wasn't there when you got caught so can't appeal.
Take a camera with you
