Does anyone know if MBM Bristol Minis are still in business? I've got a phone number from their web site, but it doesn't work.

I was planning to visit them tomorrow but I don't want a wasted trip.

Hope someone can help!

I was under the impression that they ceased trading a few years back. Strange that the web site is still going though.

I seem to remember reading that the site had been sold for housing?

They were still advertising cars on ebay a few years ago though?

What did you want with MBM?

I'm not surprised having had a couple of their cars pass through my hands....

Lets just say, the share price of ISOPON must have taken a dip when they went under...

Also saw some of their 'restoration' work, there was only ever gonna be so many people willing to shell out ten grand for some rednecked basket case before they ran out of victims.

Thanks for the speedy replies folks!

How strange that the web site is still operational.

I'm hoping to get a classic Mini and ideally I'd like to recreate my Dad's old Mk 1 Mini Minor, which he restored from a write off. (I'll attempt to upload some pictures of it.)

I'm going to pay Somerford a visit, but if anyone's got other recommendations for other restoration companies I'd be glad to hear of them.

Fraid I won't be able to do the work myself. I can drive cars, I can wash/polish cars, but I am not to be trusted with a welder or any kind of spanner!

Ian Slark - Classic Car Restoration & Repair
Brother of Brian Slark (Slark Engineering) and from the work I've seen in his workshop he's pretty damn good! If you pay pennies, your going to get pennies worth, but he seems very reasonable with costs. My GT is there at the moment having new flitch panels and a-panels, so I'll report back at the end of the week the quality of the work carried out, but as I said everything seems pretty ace that he does. He's located in Backwell (google maps it if you don't know it) near Bristol.
Website is :www.ccrr-restoration.co.uk
Give him a call and have a chat!
Dan

It might be of some interest but I know where there is what appears to be an abandoned mark one almost identical to your picture in a field in Devon. It looks in pretty decent nick from what I saw and i have no idea if it's for sale but it might be worth a go!
