Hello currently I in my mini I have two component ( i think might be 2 way) speakers in the front and 2 6x9's under the seats powerd by my 4x50 headunit.
Also I have a 12inch preamped sub in the boot wired up as well and I am thinking of upgrading my system. The plan is to by and amp and then get some more speakers for the rear parcel shelf and wire those and the 6x9's up to the amp. I just wondered what would be the best type of speakers to get? and would I need to get a 2 or a 4 channel amp?
Thanks
Greg

I'd imagine a 4 channel amp will be ok...

speakers...i'd reckon nothing bigger than 10CM speakers will fit in there aswell as the ones u mentioned...depends on the size of them tho

rear parcel shelf will take 13cm coax (what I run) but others out there have managed to fit 17cm's in there without modifying the shelf (although ive no idea on the brands at all). Hope this helps.

What about as you have a sub already, sell the 6x9's and buy some speakers for the shelf and run them 4 off a 4 channel amp?

I have 6.5" alpines in the rear shelf that fit through the original holes.

I have a limited budget so think might go for this amp should be okay for what I need
http://www.bassjunki...toxic-tx-1100se
Then considered getting some component speakers for the rear shelf as currently dont have any like these
http://www.bassjunki...diobahn-abc525v
Other plan is to get these
http://cgi.ebay.co.u...id=p3286.c0.m14
Cant find many 4" components for under about £40 but only thing is dont know where to mount tweeters as dont want to really cut holes in my nice leather dash and would rather stick them on the parcel shelf if i could
If not would just then add some normal 13cm coxial speakers for the rear shelf instead to go with the new speakers up front

there is 3 Alpines 10cm/4" for under £40 HERE

why not run the wire in behind the top dash rail so they are wedged in against the windscreen sitting at the corner of the top dash? easily done

Or what about putting your tweeters in the air vents? No holes to cut, nice and tidy, you can regulate the amount of treble using the air vent knob and you can keep them as air vents, not that they're any use whatsoever!

I already have no air vents and normal 4" pionner speakers in them but they are not components. The trouble with them is that you then have the speaker itself and the little tweeets and whilst I could just swap the speakers round I dont know where to mount the tweeets and did not want to cut into my dashboard hense me wanting to put them on the parcel shelf instead.
