I really love that straight cut whine!
Is it hard to live with?
How many pennys have you spent on the engine to get it to those figures?
Yeah can be a bit of a bore when you're not in the mood, e.g. first thing in the morning I just feel like saying "OH SHUT UP". But out on the open roads of Hampshire when there's nobody around (3AM
The only things that have changed to increase performance are Exhaust, Carb needle, Head and stuff like intake (which was on there when I bought the car) so really it's about £300 parts (got the head for £124) and £80 for the rolling road tune up.
I've got ideas about turbo charging now.. especially after discovering the manifolds that allow you to do so without hacking the bulkhead apart.

Alrighty cool! I'm wanting to build a mild 1275 over winter (if I get the car finished lol), sounds like a nice head and a cam is the way to go.

So.. the engine has had to come out as a result of some sort of gearbox failure. I was driving along when the wheels basically just locked up.. even in neutral. Engine still runs as normal, so I'm certain it's a differential issue. So I'm using this as an excuse to upgrade the engine further.
Will be popping a new camshaft in there and rebuilding the engine to suit. Think of a Kent 286... or slightly more lairy 296. My driving style suits this type of cam(redline for a good time).
Not sure when it will be back on the road at the moment.. still need to get my head round cam timing.
Oh.. and will be repainting engine bay. Also a bit of re-wiring. Generally tidying up. Could do with a new front end too.. :/

Before all this happened:

Engine out, head off, flywheel off(managed to shear the bold off the flywheel puller in the process

Can you spot half a diff pin, floating about in there? Was jammed in the diff before I got it out!!

So, this weekend is cleanup, bulkhead paint and general tidy up. Maybe some bodywork. Then the following weekend will be engine build up and see where it ends up. So much to buy.. ugh.
