So, I've just ordered everything needed to get this back on the road as well as add a bit more grunt. Found the strongest diff pin available as well as a Kent 286 cam, should add something to the performance. Lumpy idle is not a concern as the car is not used daily or in traffic very often.

Right, I made a start this afternoon. Got engine stripped down to the point I can hoist it out in the morning.
Random picture from last weekend(Zetec S is my mate's car):
How it sits right now(looking sorry for itself):
The new head alongside a spare 12g940:
Double valve springs on the new head:
I'm hoping to have the engine out first thing, then do the clutch, transfer gears and head and get it all back in and running by the end of the day. Maybe a bit optimistic, but I'm gonna try! Wish me luck.

^^ Inspired buy your Fiesta Mini shot. On track to get it like your beast

That's awesome! Yours is tidy, wish mine was. I want your seats!
Dude, 180 odd all together from Midland Wheels! Subframes and seats. It's a steal, and they're the exact same as the Cobra Monacos. Except since mine's been used quite a lot over the last couple of weeks (hoorahh), it's starting to show why they're so cheap. They're still comfortable as, don't get me wrong, but you can start to see bits of padding show through. I'll get some pictures up. But nothing that can't be fixed. They're for a Mini after all!
Your S/C box is too cool as well. Recreating the sound in reverse gear doesn't quite get the same thrill

I got all excited about having a car with a lairy cam. got it all ready to rock and roll. For about a week. it was alright, a real let down over all.
It is not anywhere near as lairy as people make it out to be. Even with over 100hp at the wheels. Really, it was a bit like waiting for bad sex. (Pushing the boundaries of a family forum there...
Get the md310 scatter, much better camshaft.

Got the gearbox all ready to go now, brand new diff pin. I went for the Molybendum (or whatever it is.. haha) coated one to try and reduce the chances of this happening again. I simply can't afford an X-Pin diff right now.
New diff pin:

Gearbox all back together:

Block back on gearbox, new camshaft in and new duplex timing chain fitted:

All I need to do now is time the cam in properly and whack the rest of it back together. Hoping to have it back up and running in 2 weeks. Would be sooner but job means I only have weekends to work on it.
