Hi mate,
i just got my C/F roof.. they are so sexy its untrue!
Im cutting my orignal roof out leaving 1-2 inches around the gutter for the C/F to rest on.
I'm bonding it on with some strong glue or something..
but i would fit full roll cage with door bars and all as the roof is one of strongest points.
My friends got a fibre glass roof skin and thats all he's done.

hi ya.
oh right i have the rear cage and was planning to get a front cage anyway!
where did you get it from and how much was it. i have seen a few places selling them and just dont know who to get it from!
is it the same piece of carbon all the way across because the one i saw fitted to that red car had a join on both sides and didnt look that good!

i had a lucky find.. friend was selling parts of his project.. £200
This one is from Curley Uk, it has a join in it which goes from drivers door right across to the other. U notice it from above but it blends in and out as u move around it.
Think its something to do with no one does carbon sheets wide enough to do a whole roof.
But i would fit a cage first.

I think I asked smudger about replacing the roof in CF and he said he would recommend you use Kevlar since the roof is very structurly important and kevlar is stronger than CF.

but once the cage is bolted in it should be just a strong or stronger.

i know kevlar is stronger but CF is just so cool its got to be that! i will definately be getting the roll cage first! i all ready rolled one mini but i am not planning on makeing it two! i also heard that most off the strength it in the gutter area! when i rolled my last mini i had a britax sunroof it it lasted ok! :fear:
the joins not too abvious on yours then? the on i saw went down both sides of the roof and had a sort of yellow bit in it too! it really stuck out!
oh rite i suppose i will just have to put up with the join, but surely some of the bonnets you can buy for more modern motors must be wider than a mini roof and they have no join.
