Well,

Getting a bit bored of the new engine already to be honest . Its really nippy for a small bore, but, its not enough to satisfy me . Currently the its an estimated 80bhp ATF (+20, PH2 cam, MJ, 40DCOE, SC drops, full race head) How much am i (roughly) looking at to do a turbo conversion, using a GT17? Woudnt really want to work the head anymore, and its about 9.9:1 CR, with flat-tops. Looking for AT LEAST 100bhp, so i then looked at the big bore route. Would be using all the running gear from the small bore setup though (new 'box). Would this prove more cost effective than turboing the small 'un? (something like a 1340, 286 cam, quality head etc.)

Will be a daily driver (but not bothered about low down power), and only sensibly got about £1200 to spend. Failing that, sell up and buy something retro with more bang out of the box.

most people will say buy a 1275 and turbo that

however i'd turbo the small bore.
but thats only because thats what i would want to do(and will do one day )

Its just, i dont want to do that, then end up with similar power from a decent NA big bore that costs less .

Just Tot'd it up. If i sold it around now, I would stand to lose about 6k . But I rather it be 6 than 8k.....

Might be cheaper to buy a motorbike for the days you need to rip it up and keep the
Mini for days when you need discomfort, rain in your face, no driving luxuries
and abuse from other motorists.
