Remeber reading on here that you couldnt have 6x9's in the rear shelf and a sub in the boot as the sub would blow the 6x9's. Is this true? I know its not an ideal setup and im going to add some front speakers later but for now i just want this setup. Any help?

Cheers

Mine's set up like that, at first it did distort the 6x9s but now i've cut a couple of holes in the board shelf (where the 2 holes are, in the middle of the metal shelf) it sounds fine and I can't see how it can destroy them, especially since other people have done it without their 6x9s blowing up..

If you don't have any front speakers, bear in mind that that won't sound very good at all though!!

No probs :]

You might want to get other people's opinions on that (i like to with everything lol) but I'm convinced my setup's just fine as it is and its staying put.

What speakers you planning for up front then?

why dont you nip on ebay again and look for the underseat speakerboard, u can pick them up for like 20quid. i started of with my 6x9's on the shelf, didnt have too much trouble with distortion, but it just didnt sound great. once i moved it the sound was soo much better!!

Or get the best of both worlds. 2 6x9's in the parcel shelf, 2 under the rear seats, wire up a small amp to the parcel shelf, and it's just like having a sub :D i got all the car trim rattling from the bass earlier.

Hello there...

Yes you are spot on... and Optimise Automotive now have a solution for this...

Although these are not 'made visible' on the website yet, they are for sale: LINK

Anyway the enclosure pods (linked above), along with speaker pods will be online for all to see by Wednesday.
