Had you used the flexible vinyl paint from Halfords or another kind of paint?

flexible vinyl paint from Halfords

I've heard very good thing about this stuff, many people used them for the interiors.
If cracked, probably surface wasnt cleaned very well, or too many coats applied.

I too want to do this, can you remove it without taking the windscreen out, if so how?

Once removed the three retaining bolts, its a bit of hassle and swearing, but at leat it will come out.

hi has anyone got any idea what size these nuts are i've recently re built my dash but lost 2 of the nuts some how??

I am considering using this blue paint from halfords cause the piping on my seats is the same blue as the paint but my bf says he thinks the vibrant blue colour will make the rail look plastic and crappy... thoughts?

there are 3 bolts along the underneath of the top dash rail, 1 at each corner and the other behind the middle astray, when i did mine i removed the astray, and got a crow bar to leaver the middle bolt out. it can be an annoying job to do; with a lot of swearing but it comes out in the end

i did this and mine cracked :D

So... Have we found it why it cracked ???

Was it because flexible paint wasn't used?

i used some spray glue and some vinyl i got from fabric world. this way you can have any colour you want without it looking plastic and tacky. youll probaly be able to match your seats too.

i also decided to cover over the ashtray hole while i was there, no one will ever be smoking in my car haha

Flexible vinyl paint and the plastic steering column shroud doesn't seem like the best mix, the dash should be ok though.
