Right here goes, i know my way round an engine, and i've been playing with my mini for a while now, its off the road and i try and get a few hours in a week on the ol' girl, but i'm completley innocent when it comes to supercharger or forced induction.

i have a standard(ish) 1996 Cooper 1.3i. I've been messing with the air intake/filter with no particually spectacular results, what i want to know is what process is involved with supercharging the engine, or indeed simply arranging some kind of forced induction, what do i need, what other alterations will need making (ie injection ECU etc) and what kind of performance difference will i be looking at?

Any help is kindly appreciated, be kind, i am learning!
