Ok Quick Question

how easy would it be to do the timing chain leaving the engine in car.....only done it before with engine out of car....once all the bit and bobs had been removed . fan .rad..pipes..

Not easy but do able, suppose its like changing a clutch, easier with the engine out but do able with it in.

It's bloody easy.

You'll encounter 3 main problems.

1) Getting the gears off - it can be a hassle, I managed to mange the gears on mine but I was changing them so nuts to it.
2) Crappy repair work - When I did mine the previous owner had used not one, not two but FOUR timing cover gaskets with a load of seleant. Took a day to clean all that crap off.
3) Getting dot to dot again. It's just a pain as everything moves when you tighten everything.

Bar that it's pretty easy. Too me a day to do mine first time as I kept screwing it up.

Meant not as easy when your working in the engine bay opposed to working with it out the car. Changing timing gears is easy its just the stuff to do before hand, you will probably have to undo the engine mount to take the bottom rad/mount bracket off to remove the crank pulley.
