Hi All
Think I'm going to purchase the 12" to 10" coversion kit from MiniSpares. They have 2 though, one appears to be with AP brake calipers, one appears to be MiniSpares own brand ones.
Anyone had any experiences with the own brand ones? I think I might aswell go for them if they are just as good and cheaper! They can't be selling bad quality brake calipers, as brakes are usually quite important :) but wanted to check here 1st before going ahead with it.
Cheers
Dan

I bought the MSC own brand calipers and sent them back. They are meant to be exact castings of lockheed calipers.
They could not be bolted to the hub because they were not cast properly and fouled the hub. You could only get one bolt through.
I phoned the MSC and explained the problem...staff there went and checked and confirmed that the calipers were substandard and would not fit ANY minis!
I had to return them and get a refund.
The same week i saw them featured in one of the mini mags with a comment about difficulty in fitting.
Worth calling minispares to see if this issue has been resolved before you order them.

Cheers
Andy

When it comes to brakes dont choose the cheapest option... they need to stop you in any condition and circumstance.

By the sounds of it you should get the AP ones.

Yeah by the sounds of it they aren't up to the job. They might be just as good at stopping but I really can't be doing with mucking around trying to fit them.
The other option is to go for a used set, which I may well do :proud:

how much is a full 10" conversion with the tmf+ discount, reason being ive just found out my company is taking me on after my aprentaship so i got 350ish a week to spend (after paying back my dad for the new engine lol) hopefully ill have some 10" mb splits before next summer, and a runarond for winter so my mini stays in tip top order ;).

Well MiniSpares have the 15% off until the end of August, so I think it is £259 delivered for the conversion kit with AP Calipers ;)

Ah that's good to hear. £42 cheaper is a lot of money to me, so aslong as they are just as good I'm going to go for the MiniSpares one
