Got home from work today to find a huge dent in the roof of my Mini. I popped it out (it was half the roof popped in) but it has left a big ripple and dent on one side. I know who did it, and want to scare him how much it costs to have fixed. I have JUST resprayed and polished the whole car in metallic blue, so the roof looks like glass. Every little imperfection would show up, so I carefully filled EVERYTHING before I sprayed. This ripple wont pull out, I have tried. How much have people on here been charged for a new roof panel to be fitted?

Bad news and I hope that relation gets excomunicated and castrated at the same time.

Anyway a cheap fix would be the use of filler.

An expensive fix would be to remove and replace the actual roof panel. Not easy though and I've heard that some have transplanted roof panels from donor Minis by cutting through the roof/side pillars.

I intend to completely ignore him now, I *used* to give him lifts etc all round town when he couldnt walk. I wont put a roof off a donor mini on it, I would like to replace it totally with a new panel. I have *just* resprayed the car with metallic, so it cant be patched easily without showing. REALLLLLLYYYY fuming right now.

That sucks mate. I have just had the exact same thing happen to me. The cost of a steel roof skin is about £250 but you can easily double that for welding and labour costs.

Ok , cheers mate. I thought it would be about a grand.....
When the rain stops I will try again with the dent puller, maybe push the big dent back in to see if that frees up the small one to come out. Looks like it is dented for Stamford hall though:-(

Has your girlfriends relative got a car?

If so no doubt that also has a roof too?

Not that I'm putting ideas into your head of course.

:D >:)
