How important is it we bring a MOT certificate with us??? When do they check if at all?? As you maybe able to guess I can't find mine, and now in the middle of ransacking the house trying to find it!!

I'd of got as far as i could and hoped I wasn't turned back at somepoint lol....... or would of brought the Diesel Mondeo with me

but what would happen if you couldnt find it?

Their argument is that you shouldn't have travelled without it, a duplicate should have been obtained prior to departure.

I don't believe you need the MOT with you at all. I said this the other day. It's not on the list of stuff to carry that either the AA or the RAC publish. Some European countries and territories have no annual inspection system at all so they can't expet everyone to have a certificate.
