IS IT TRUE THAT PAINT PEELS OFF OF THE FIBRE GLASS WHEN PAINTED?
i WILL BE FITTING A FIBRE GLASS FLIP FRONT TO MY MINI TO HOUSE MY 2.0 LITRE ENGINE BUT AM WORRIED THAT I WILL NEVER GET A GOOD FINISH ON THE FIBRE GLASS SO WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HAVE A DECENT PAINT JOB DONE, IS THIS TRUE OR ARE THERE WAYS TO AVOID THIS OCCURING??

have you ever seen paint peel off a ferrari bonnet?????? that is rubbish, paint sticks to fiber glass the same as metel................. as long as the prep work is done properly, there should be no promlem what so ever, hope this helps!

It realy makes me LOL
at least we can stamp out some of the myths
BUT fiberglass will peel if not preped corectly , and will go dull and flat if not used with the corect primer ETC.

i heard u had to use a different paint becasue the fibreglass can flex??

as long as you prep it right and use the right primer it should stick

fibreglass doesnt flex! if it does, it is made from a ******* mold!
fibreglass is supposed 2 be quite strong up to a point were it just cracks and brakes into pieces! and its light :grin:
there is no difference between painting fibrelass and metal, as long as its done right
