SPI Cooper

Hi guys

Urm strange problem ive just fitted a 2 core radiator this week and working great..problem is my auxiliary fan is turning on after 5mins and stays on till i switch the engine off..? even tho my its below the half way mark on the gauge

Now on the 2 core's you get supplied the thermostat switch for the bottom of the rad with two spade connectors..now when you connect the wires to it they dont have to be on a pacific spade do they?

bit stuck on that

No it doesn't matter which side their fitted. It might be worth checking for a short circuit somewhere or enquiring with the company you bought the radiator from?

I have same problem. See my recent post. The temperature sensor comes on at 88 degrees whereas the Rover one comes in at 98 degrees.

Also the point at which the switch cuts out is very low on the screw in sensor at 82 degrees. Hence the fan stays on too much.

I have spoken to Mini Spares and Mini Sport and both say standard screw in sensor (no alternative available!) and could not offer any reason why cut in and cut off points are different to standard Rover ones.

I need help as this issue is very frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!
