Still deciding what sort of engine spec to do atm although a hot 1293 like i said before is my current plan. The body work is still pretty good but it has suffered in the usual areas, as well as what you can see needs repairing i'm also going to replace the sills.
As for the light weight side of things i've now got a fibreglass front which i've posted already, a boot floor, rear valance, Carbon boot lid, and alloy door skins. Plus i'm going to the non servo type brake master cylinder which gives me a bit more room in the engine bay and takes off some weight. Also i've bought a safety devices rollcage front and rear in black and i'm still deciding on door bars.
I think the wiring loom is about the most scary part for me really, its a bit of a birds nest atm.
Anyways heres some piccies, will get some more soon.

hi george love the car just about to start my rally/retro mini got a fast motor in it so dont need to do anything to that might fit webber but thats it wut did you use to get the crap off the floor.
ps keep up the good work.
Sorry i don't fully understand that. To get the crap off the floor you need to scrape what you can off with a screwdriver (theres no easy way of doing this!), then to get the residue off you need to use something strong like petrol ideally and a rag or something which should bring it right down to the primer.

The rust isn't too bad, will have it all repaired soon. And its not illeagal to have holes so i guess its ok, quite a few people have done it with no problems.

Good luck getting it back in the road. Will look good with the flip front on. Will shed a bit of the old weight as well which is always a good thing.

Lol i know its looking a bit sorry for its self atm, and cheers yeah it will make working on the engine much easier. Hopefully it will have lost a decent amout of weight when its done, although i think i might have carpets in the front. will get some pics of the new parts when i finally get around to picking them up.

Did you weigh up the plates after you'd cut them out?

Bet that was a pain drilling those holes in the cross-member, didn't they fall through?

I did have to get a pair of screwdrivers to get the holes out lol but it wasnt too bad, i did it mainly to see what the floor pan was like underneath. i didn't bother weighing them but it wasn't worth it for the weight, does look quite good though and i've got a cage that will put the strength back.
