Looking at the picture The bonnet pins near to the scuttle panel seems to be about 90° out, they should be point each other, and not pointing at the front of the car.
Left pin should point right about 30° down (03:20) indeed right pin should point left (08:40)
Check this, the bonnet will pop off when speeding if the pins are fitted the wrong way round..

There parallel with the edge of the bonnet currently, i've had it fitted for a little while now and everything seems solid, not convinced the bonnet will just pop off as the pin is quite well secure over the bolts and it would take quite a bit more than just air to unclip the pin especially the speeds that minis do, thanks anyways.

What you doing with the bodywork ? :P love the car :P

Thanks, well there is some work to be done on the body work side but is not too bad really, so some repairs and new pannels along with a mk1 boot lid (maybe cf) will do me for the time being, still considering a fibre front end, cheers. :P

Okay so i've just been spending money! After a while of thinking i decided that i'm going for that really retro look with 10" wheels so i ordered my converion kit just a min ago along with some nice new braided goodridge hoses off mini sport that i will be fitting asap.

I'm still not 100% on what wheels yet though, i'm thinking of getting the ultralite alloy versions of the cooper wheels in the picture below, but i haven't seen them on many cars so i'm still undecieded, but if i do get them they will be heavily spaced out for that wider stance.

Also ordered myself a mk1 austin cooper grill kit from minispares as the alloy thing i got on at the moment is just horrible in real life dispite what the pictures look like.

Will be posting pictures as things are fitted! :P

thanks liirge there very nice i do like that style a lot, still undecided on wheels now, i was after wellers but im having a nightmare trying to find a set of in 10x6" as everyone is so vague on telling the actual wheel dimensions, but i may end up going for the cooper wheels im not sure.

At the moment the exterior will be rally/retro and maybe a bit of racing and the interior will be a mixture of normal/rally/race stuff. also to add i fitted my rev lmiter the other day and wired in my guage, will do a vid of it hitting the limiter if anyone is interested i love it lol, also fitted my new harnesses (black omp 4 pointers). :D

Ok so update, firstly i got my cooper s 7.5" brake kit through and fitted, don't think we need pictures of that though, also got my austin cooper cooper mk1 grill fitted, and i got myself some 10" wheels!
Posted Image
Weller 10x5s, i was originally going for 6" wide but i think 5" is more rally.
Posted Image
Also got some omp 4 point harnesses, much better.
Posted Image
And here's a picture of the dash at the moment before its ripped out and i build a new one, got my tacho and rev limiter fitted now.
Posted Image
Also heres a picture of the car as it stands at the moment, so much better with the grill on plus i have some pressed plates to fit, can't wait for the 10s now!

Also liirge i've decided to go down the retro/rally road with this project from now on!
