Yeah absolutely, cost a fortune sending it to a body shop, i think i'll need to brush up on my mig welding though, its been a while, luckily my dad used to weld professionally so he can help me. From what i've heard it needs to be around 150amps to give a good working cycle and will be ideal for working on all areas of the car not just the body work, also clarke were recomended a few times so thats why i'm going with that one.

anyone got any tips how to get rid of this crap stuff that remains?

I know this was a while ago, and don't know if you've done it.

But white spirit gets it off in a couple of wipes. Works a treat!

Great looking car by the way!

Thanks, no i haven't done it yet i've been pretty lazy on sorting that recently, cheers for the tips.

Thanks for the comments guys, much appreciated. :(

I've just had to order more weber parts, needed new studs and bolts for the rampipe fittings so that i can fit the airfilter, even more money!

Ok so the weathers been lush this week so i've done some work on the car, i've cleaned up the footwell some more and removed the sound deadening off the rear bench, i can't believe how much that stuff weighs, just got the rear floor to do now then i can paint it up nice.

Also finished cleaning the weber but stupidly i assumed i didn't need ram pipes for my air filter, wrong! So i've just had to order a pair of ram pipes on ebay.

And went for a drive with my mate following me in his fiesta, its so funny how quick i can go round roundabouts compaired to him lol.

:D

The webers fitted, sorted it on saturday, the most time consuming part was moving the loom and getting the damn box in, but once that was done it was easy, its far from set up properly yet but its still massively different in comparison, the sound is unreal i love it, it just wants to rev so much higher now. Its running quite rich though as i got a nice loud pop from the exhaust when booting it underload from 2nd into 3rd yesterday, also going to raise the engine slightly to give better clearance on the airfilter to the bulkhead box, could have put the box a bit lower really but its a bit late for that now :D, but the weber still has loads of clearance its the big airfilter that doesn't.

I'm going to have to do a video soon, just need to tidy up the interior as its sooo ratty and messy right now and a wee bit rusty in palces. ;)

Haha sounds like the mpg's worth it though.
Need to get a straight cut box aswell for the ultimate retro a-series sounds.
