Hi
Just a question on protecting the wheel arches of my mini. I am in the process of priming my mini with celly, the car is a completely bare shell. Anyway, i plan to do the sills, inside the rear arches, and under the front wings. What is the best thing I can use to protect these areas? I quite like the idea of a smooth stonechip, as this might be easlier to keep clean if the car is to be concours.

I guess whatever i apply needs to go on top of the primer, but underneath the paint.

Is shultz actually stonechip, and where can I get this stuff from?

Cheers

i would go for stone chip, shultz is thick black underseal type crap thats used by back street garages to cover up bodged repairs and crap welding. stonechip is the best as you can prime and paint over it

stone chip out of a rattle can is very thin - doesn't provide much protection but does leave a lovely satin finish.

I would strongly recommend setting your spray gun up and shooting some U-POL Gravitex stone chip - It's a superior product and leaves a good looking, hard wearing finish that can be painted over if required. but you'll have to work hard to get it smooth

You can get it from any halfords stores in a large can for about 6 pound in white or black or if you have an elliots or oscotts anywhere near you or a paint shop they will do it.
