ive seen rwd stuff but its always had a big motor in rather than an a series. if your gunna got to the lenghts to make one rwd why would you use a heavy old low power motor when you could use something bigger. Im pretty sure moggy 1000's can have A series and rwd lol!

Them moggy's i think will have had the in line a series motor not the transverse one in minis.

If you are really set on making a rear wheel drive a series mini, then sourcing an inline engine is probably the best way to go. Get rid of the transverse box.

I remember reading many years ago about some mini race series, which required them to use the original engine/box. They turned the engine 90 degrees, and used a cut down driveshaft bolted to the frame to block the front-facing pot joint so the diff transfered all power to the rear facing joint, which was bolted to a prop shaft and a back axle offf something I cant remember.
The gearchange was modded with extra levers to work via the 90degree turn.

Not really feasable in a road car, and if you are going to the effort and expense of builng a RWD car, you should use a more suitable engine.

i looked into this and a mg midget is the best to use as the wheel base is the same as the mini plus you get a 1275 motor. i was going to do this to a riley elf just use the floor pan of the midget with shell of the mini.

There was a Moke (in dis-repair) at IMM... It also had an 'A' Series engine at the front too! :)
