does the amp pop the fuse instantly or after a while of use? also are you testing the amp properly wired up with a sub attached & decent cable?
Infinity subs are OK, depends what you want to achieve & how much time, effort & money you want to spend.
I gave a mate a pair of Pro-plus Subs (15" DVC Data's) and he made a couple of boxes for them and they're awesome...they just shake everything in the house!
You can do a lot with a 200w amp, feed this into something like a JL audio 12" or Rockford HE SVC 12" with a decent box and it'll put to shame some 1000+w systems.

thx for the reply and its instantly poping fuses and we tested it with varius speakers and cheaked all conecters used brand new cableing none of this cheap stuff.
i only buy stuff to last and its still doing it even borowed a differant battery just to try, i was told probly a capaciter has blown and if im lucky i might be able to see wich one and replace it. i took the inspection panel off but all looked well inside nothing out of the odernary..... im stumped and how much would a jl or rockford 12" cost. and is there any chance of me usind a differant box and a single infinity sub with the 200w would this sound any good because i got it all free i wouldent mind geting an ok set up out of what i have ?

if you're confident in repairing the unit, go ahead. sometimes car amplifiers have reverse polarity diodes across the main power input, you can check this and like you said check the capacitors for dead/shorting. You could ask a local TV repair shop to give a quote, if it's cheaper than buying another amp...?
The JL's & Rockford's i mentioned are the cheaper models of the series, around 150-250w single voice coil, i heard a workmates car all he had was a single Rockford HE 12" on a 200W amp...nothing special, but the sound was awesome & clean.
Have a look around the web, see if Infinity have any details of ideal box sizes for your model of sub and try and get a box to match...or even make one! 15-18mm MDF and the terminal plates & ports (if needed) can be gotten from local Maplins. If you're making one, you can also taylor it to fit your car better, use MDF primer & could even paint match to the car if you don't want a material finish.

i'm afraid it's a buyers market at the moment and 2nd hand car audio is next to worthless! have a look on ebay, local bargain pages etc for similar stuff and base your price on that (if it's not too cheap). you may get a better price if you do a nice clean install in your car (make it sound good as well as look good), take it to local gatherings and advertise it there. People will tend to buy if they see it working and performing well.
