well my mini has been needing an engine for ages now, it was booked in early last week to put a brand new 1293 i brough put in, 1st week, mechanic wasnt happy with a piston ring he pput in so said to me to order another set and heel pay for them (fair enough that dont annoy me), now the annoying bit... the piston rings got delayed in the post by 3 days, now there here (gave them to the mechanic yesterday bout mid day) i rang him tonight to ask about progress and he said he hasnt even built the engine yet!! i was meant to go alton towers tomorrow and go stanford at the weekend (looking forward to stanford as have missed all the other shows in my car!) but hes had it 2 weeks now and the only progress is taking the old engine out... had 2 weeks off work thinking id b able to see ma mates n that (live a lil bit away) so now ive complety wasted my last 2 weeks of holiday for this year!!! grrrrr. and cant get to my new job with my new higher wage contract next week .

to top it all off my backup phone is broken and my main good one is in for repair.... such bad luck!

only writing this long essay as im stuck in the house bored.

i never rely on a garage as iv had bad experiances with 2 different garages and will never go to any again if its possible to avoid them

i guess rather that sitting on his arse charging you for his time he put your engine on hold and did another job

i guess if you had told him to sit around for 3 days and you would pay him for this your mini would be done by now

Someone should sticky this as a rant specific thread. My turn

I worked really hard at 6th form this year, and put up with a lot of crap from lots of people i really don't like, because i knew in the end i would get the grades i deserved and i would end up successful. Results day comes along, i miss out on my first choice uni and my second choice uni BY ONE MARK, and they refuse me. Fair enough i should have revised a tiny bit more to gain that extra mark. I send it off for a remark AND IT DIDN'T CHANGE AT ALL. but here comes the really infuriating bit. Because of my worthless irresponsible piece of s**t Politics teacher who LIED to me about the quality of my coursework, making me send it off when it was a load of crap, i also missed out on the grade i wanted in Politics too. IF I HADN'T BEEN MISLED BY THAT W**KER THEN I WOULD BE GOING TO UNI.

My school are refusing to let me stay with them and retake the year, even though it's a private school and my parents must HAVE PAID AT LEAST £100,000 to them, and even though they admit that my teacher messed up they're not offering ANYTHING to me. A**eholes. So i have to miss a year for essentially one mark and a crap teacher.

Now i'm stuck, the local colleges are either full up, don't do the subjects i need to retake. I WENT TO ONE TODAY AND THEY DID EVERY CONCEIVABLE SUBJECT, EVEN "CAKE DECORATING" CLASS, BUT THEY DON'T DO POLITICS OR HISTORY.

It gets worse. Now that i'm out for a year, suddenly shifts at my part-time job are drying up. I've got no more money coming in, so now i won't be able to renew my insurance next year. So the Mini's gone. I won't have money to go out with my girlfriend, so now she'll be miserable.

I'm depressed because my parents have spent all that money and it's come to this, I RANG UP MY UNI THE OTHER DAY AND THEY SAID THEY'RE NOW PUSHING THEIR ENTRY REQUIREMENTS up, so if i do retake i pretty much have to get 100% in everything. WHAT IS THIS COUNTRY COMING TO, EVENTUALLY EVERYONE WILL BE HAVING TO GET AAA GRADES TO EVEN THINK ABOUT UNI.


So that's it. No money, i'm facing 3 exams which i have to get nearly 100% in to get the grades i need, one of those exams (the coursework) is all my teachers fault, despite my parents paying £8000 a year to the school. He must have thought of it as a good joke, telling me my coursework was good, and should be sent off, when it was nearly a U Grade. He's messed up my life and if i see him on the street i will break his face.

I very much doubt you hjave ruined your life...or even if yu think that yur teacher had, I had a similar thing with GCSE, new exam board teacher didnt know the requirements everyone got bad marks on written work.
Have yu tried going through clearing? There are Uni's out there that will take anyone. Speak to someone at UCAS.
With regards to your job, there are other jobs out there, you dont have to stay in that one, so get off yur arse and go out and get one.


Paying alot of money for a school doesnt automatically mean your going to get into Uni...you said you should of revised more in the first place so now yur suffering the consequences, speak to UCAS, go through clearing, sort out your choices or even adapt your course a little so your still going to uni.

Mate, just take a year and go to college. You can study there for what you need, work more hours, and use that extra cash you're earning on the mini. Genius.

I'm trying to go to college, but they're either full up or don't do the subjects i need. And i would work more hours if my employer gave me more, which they're not, i did ask. This has all been covered above My only realistic option is to essentially give up, settle for a mediocre and inconvenient uni, not doing the course i want to do, and then do a conversion course at the end. But thats giving up IMO.
