Hi,
What reading is normal on the oil temp gauge fitted to MPi's? Mine does rise a little from rest but doesn't get much over the first 50 deg mark even if the engine is worked hard. This doesn't seem right - could be my sensor?
Thanks,
Jeff

It should normally sit between 90 and 120 although mine stays low for short distances or town running but does get up to 110 - 120 on a long motorway run and have seen 130 on really warm days and contimual 70 - 80 mph motorway work.

It's not unknow for the wires to get crossed over for the oil temp and oil pressure as they are the same type of connectors but one is black and the other one is brown (can't remember which is which nop but this happened to me).

That's interesting - I'll check it out. Current reading just doesn't make sense as the engine must get well over 50 deg :D Thanks for suggestion.
