thought i should start a project page as this is turning in to one by accident

so here goes nothing.

were to start.

forgot about mot, so me and my dad were getting him ready for mot and noticed that the top subframe mount bolt wasnt in properly. so we tried to put it back in, it wouldnt go in it just rotated so we tryed to take it out and it just rotated. ahhhhhhh

so after to hitting with hammers we got it out and then realised that we had knackered the thread on the bolt and on the subby so have had to take the suby out to re cut thread.

my dad disconnected everything that was needed to be disconnected (thanks to someone on here who sent me a list of everything that needs disconecting) while i was at work last week. so today i finished work early and started to take it out.

it didnt go quite to plan and i broke something on the back of the engine

and then this happened

Posted Image

it fell over forward.ahhhhhhh

so i had to work out how to lift the engine to its up right possition by my self.

this is wen i discovered that the engine mount thats on the clutch case is broken. so i borrowed a lorry jack fron my neighbour as the trolley jack was under the car. in doing this the engine fell off of the jack and one of the spark plugs hit the jack and snapped

so i lowered Vini down onto axel stands and used the trolley jack to lift it.

so now he looks like this

Posted Image

and have also noticed that there is a crack in the subframe that is gunna need welding.

and to think i thought that this was gunna be a quick get it back on the road how wrong was i!!!!

how did it turn from need to rethread that bolt on the subframe and put the engine back in, to complete strip-down of the car.

yeah wish i had the time and money!!! its gunna take a while and begging and borrowing from my mother (24 and still living at home does have some benifits lol) and shes happy for me to pay back when its back on the road.

but im really glad that im doing it, ive found so many things that the previous owner has down badly/ dangerously.

like one of the bolts on the rear subframe wasnt long enough so they had put poly filler in the hole then put the bolt in just to make sure it held, i found lots of things like that!!

grrr makes me soo mad

yeh that similar to mine.
i dont think that anywhere on my car has the correct amount of bolts on it.
the boots held on with 6 bolts - mine has 5 and there are 4 different sizes on there.

surely not cable ties?
