Well on sat me and dad struggled to get the bloody rear window in no matter how hard we pushed etc we tried for over and hour!!!!!

so did some research on here (anyone would think that people no stuff about minis on here lol) and people were sugesting using lube so i went and bought some tesco on lube (dad also asked me to buy bog roll at the same time, i did get some funny looks lol) so we just spent 15 mins with me and dad and my lil bro and have got it in lol YAY no pic as of yet but am well chuffed!!!!

Right lets re-do the update since it went missing when the illegitimate holes that frequent the nether regions of ones ass, decided to bugger everything up.

were was i..............

ah yes......

we have now got all of the rear windows in and on the car (rear screen and both opening rear quarters)

and ive been meaning to move the heater hoses for a while because they are hitting the peddles. so while i was trying to remove the hose from one of the pipes on the matrix,(which was well and trully jammed on there, not sure how i managed to get it on in the first place it was that jammed on) i lubed it up and pulled and twisted and then something gave way "YAY" i thought, unfortunately i had manged to snap off the blooming pipe off of the matrix so now i need new ends.

but it did mean i could get pics of the inside of the heater and show how my dad (the electrical genious he is) managed to turn the on/off heater in to a variable speed one like you get in modern cars by using a variable speed resistor out of a golf and mating it to the heater controls from my corsa dash.

so this is the resistor he got
Posted Image

he then stripped the plastic from around the blade terminals and worked out which blade reduced the current by how much and then did a smiliar thing with the control switch by fiddling with the wires and connecting them to resistor and the motor.

anyway he came up with this idea of were to mount it so it stays cool and is hidden etc.

and then once its all wired you push all the wires up through the hole the 2 normal heater power cables come through and attach a plug for easy removal

How do you control fan speed?

with the controls from the corsa dash

so im using all of the 3 twisty bits like the ones in the pic below to controll the heater power direction and hot and cold
Posted Image

so there are a number of wires that come out of the back of it for the speed that then relate to the resistor pictured earlier and the resistor steps the power down etc

hope that helps a lil bit

will try and get pics tomoz of the dash controls not fitted

Impressive upgrade. I'd like to do a variable fan speed mod to mine but don't like the look of the controls.

Fantastic rebuild and colour scheme! Those wheels compliment the choice of body colour. I'm liking the twin tank set-up and mk2 rear lamps.

Nice project

If your going to want to keep the original facia for the mini heater, then you would need a multi-poke/position switch with 4or5 positions including off. Then you should be able to our it in the same hole as the original on/off.

Cheers matey. Lots of people before I got the wheels coated tried to warn me off having a bright colour like that, but just like you they all agree it looks amazing!!!!! Fitting the second tank was a scary experience, having to cut a big hole in his body work , but we did it right do its all good YAY!!!!!!
