Yesterday when I got in I took hacksaw and a file to one of the brackets as I've had a couple of people on FB saying that it looked cack, and to be honest I agreed but could never be arsed to in bolt it and file etc but I have now done it....

What ya reckon?

I  also thought I should mock up the bonnet with the spot brackets just to make sure that the brackets werent too thick etc

Need to adjust the springy cath bit so it stays closed lol

Well tonight we drilled some holes in the top of the brackets for the 9" spots and then in the top of the front pannel, and then used (for the first time) my rivnut tool and attached them at the top.

this is when we found out that one bracket bent correctly and the other one is pissed lol, so me dad has said he will sort the other one out tomorrow while im talking to my mortgage man, and then when i get back we shall be attaching all of the other lights too the front and hopefully making up some brackets for the 2 reversing lights and 2 rear fogs

sorry no pics today but will try and get some tomorrow

spots semi bolted on,

Posted Image

ive now finished that and those brackets are almost finished, they just need counter sunk bolts and then painting

next on the lighting front is to do the fogs and DRLs but weve discovered we dont have a 7mm drill so we cant make a hole the correct size for the relevant rivnut

would of got more done today but the mortgage adviser didn't half go on lol

I came across this thread because Daviewonder was looking for it and I fancied a peek.

So I had a picture skim and wow, I can't wait to read through all of this properly.

At first glance though, that headlining is amazing! I really want to copy you and put one like that in mine but I wouldn't want to ruin the uniqueness of it.

Keep up the fantastic work!

Hey thanks for the compliments, and by all means copy the idea just not the fabric (as i knocked up that pattern with a little help from paperchase lol then modified there design) but Martin from sticky fingers printed it and Chris and retro retrims made it into a headlining. so go for it.

But the pattern is fantastic! Haha.

Martin can print headling fabric?

My mother is a seamstress, might have to give her my old headlining, the new fabric and a box of chocolates. Haha.

Yeah his lazer printer prints its wonderfully. you just have to be carefull when glueing it as the evostik stuff that chris recomends actually remoeves some of the colour but luckily if you only get it on the btis its sposed to stick to then its all coverd up by the window rubbers etc.

and its propper perforated headlining fabric none of the cheap crap you sometimes get, good quality as instructed by Mr retro retrims.

is your car black an orange like your sig?

if so how about something like this that is an easliy repeated pattern and would look quite cool and brigten up the inside, if its too much orange then flip the colours and have more black etc

That's pretty cool that he can do that! I shall definitely have to consider it in the future I think.

Yeah it's going to be black and orange but I fancied something a little bit different for the inside.

Yours looks alot like the Paul Smith pattern in my wallet.

Well tonight i got the bonnet sitting properly, it needed anew catch bolt thingy bullet looking thing on the bonnet, so fitted that and it now catches and stays down yay
i also fitted rubber braided fuel pipes too and from the fuel pump from the pipe under the car and to the carb, might need a longer one going to the carb as it comes mighty close to the exhaust manifold which worrys me slightly so might need to get one longer so i can route it else were

oh and dad has almost finished the wiring, he took last wednesday off and got 85% done i reckon

no pics sorry guys but will try and get one of the fuel pipe issue and of the bonnet in its final position
