Dads nearly done the wiring, he got it to the stage (before buggering off on a 2 week holiday in Greece) were I can now fit the interior, but before I do that I've got to make some gromits up to fill the holes that he gear stick rods go through, which should of been done when we fitted the internal mech but we forgot so I'm hopefully doing that this eve and then cutting the insulation to size, and unbolting the fuse box and seat mounts etc and fitting the carpets then slotting the dash in and the centre console, but I've the got to wait till dads back so he can finish wiring up the switches and the dials, but before then I've got to buy a new speedo sensor thing for irridium gauge

Oh and I need to fit the exhaust and arches and the n get an MOT ahhhhh and then he will be finished yay

Well me and the misses Got the insulation cut to shape, but cant fit it till ive sorted out the holes in the floor, and im going to wait till my dad is back from his holiday in greece (all right for some (bring on sept honey moon in thailand yay) luck sod) as a friends neigbour was an idiot last week and was working on his car just using the trolley jack and it fell on him. he wasnt found for 4 or 5 hours when his dad found him a lil bit squished and dead, so apprehensive isnt the word,

but i also nearly got the electric speedo sensor hooked up, yay i seriously can not wait to get him on the road

Well today we got an early start working on Vini and we got  a fair amount done (In-between watching planes fly over the garden from Farnborough air show).

So we dismantled the gear linkage so that we could what rubber gromity type things so that when I drive through puddles water doesn't pee inside through the holes and that took a while, this does now mean that the interior can go in!!!

Once we had done that dad did some under-sealing before we fafed about attaching the exhaust and fitting it too far back so about 4inches of the exhaust stuck out the back and the back box was squished against the subframe, so we then had to drill holes in the subframe to mount the exhaust in a different place , but the drill wouldn't fit (it was on all 4 axel stands and the jack is crap so wouldnt lift it high enough) so we spent about an hour driving around places trying to find some were to buy a flexi or 90degree chuck drill bit drive thingy, couldn't find any were that sold one or had one in stock. We got back to the house and dad has a brain wave if we lowered the front of the car the back would pivot slightly and might be high enough!
So we did that and it worked, If only he had had that brain wave an hour before lol never mind
We got the exhaust on which is important!!!

It looks great. How did you get the heater controls to work, I saw the bits in the other post about fan speeds, but how did you get the temp and air direction cables to work?

that would be telling, lol well the hot cold one one the dash is a cable thing so thats just hooked up like it would normaly and the direction one is complitcanted and we havent tested it yet, but should work as ive taken the control rod off of the back of it and attached a cable clipey bit to it, which attaches to a boden cable that is bolted to the slider on the heater, will try and get pics at some point

recently we have got the carpets in and the rear under seat speaker board in (i no that its not the best place for speakers but short on cash and i already had it so it will doo for now!) i did it at the same time as i was running the speaker cables under the carpet.

we have also got the interior light working with the door switches, and today we got both doors on, one is in the correct position and everything the other one is being a PITA! and already has 4 shims on the top hinge and none on the bottom but still needs to be moved over so need to add more shims to the bottom or top or something.

me and dad have done a fair amount of attaching wires so that things work with switches, like the reversing light works with the gear stick now and the brake lights work with the pedal.

I CANNOT WAIT TO GET HIM ON THE ROAD!!!!!!!!!!!! its been far to long

pics will follow at some point when i get my camera off of my fiance
