Bit of an update, everything was done and finished last weekend, and we were checking him over so we can get him moted etc, when i noticed that there was fluid comming out of the back of the caliper were the hose goes into the caliper! grrrrr so  am now in contact with mini spares to try and buy half of a caliper grrrrr

Right this weekend we got the engine running properly, so that it idled with out the choke, and we got the exhaust or sealed so it doesnt leak etc,
we also fitted the door cards and handles (from dsn classics)

But discovered that the alternator isnt doing its job properly so weve taken it out and dads going to take it to an auto electrician to find out if its dead and if it can be fixed etc

Wheres the window winders?!? loving the doorcards, where did you get them from?

electric windows (which have got to come out as the motor is knackered in both oh the joys of buying stuff secondhand from people you dont no) so the door cards will be comming off and normal window mech will be going back in and then i will be buying the window kit from A series spares.

the doorcards i bought from a chap at a show who was selling loads of them

oh nice, i saw a nice 50 quid electric window set on ebay, only thing that put me off is that it had all the cogs to attach to the spindly bit, but none looked like a HUGE hexagon which is on the mini :P

Minispares have got back to me and are allowing me to buy a single caliper (lucky they had one random one lying about with a couple of scratches) that i can split in half and make mine work yay!!! they estimate that it should be with me on friday!!!

My new calliper should be with me today!!!! So might try and fit it tonight if the rain holds off!!

Then I need to remove the crappy wood and Pickett electric window kit as the motors are both past it and don't have the power to close the window properly, and then fit the old winder mechs, then save up for the A-series spares kit!!!!!

Well ive had to cancell the MOT, i thought because the car was running well on tickover that meant it was ok when driving, oooops its not, and is running lumpier than a lumpy thing on a lumpy day, so i need to get him rollling road and set up properly, annoingly the speedo isnt working proplerly and i dont think its picking up the signal from the sender

Where did you get it rolling road tested?

i cant remember the name of the place i took him for the RR but i wouldnt take him there again didnt do as i asked, they didnt set up the carb etc, they did a half hearted power run (didnt take him above 40mph) and then charged me £80 for the pleasure!!

How much does  he wont for the leccy window kit and what kit is it? (got Pics)

He failed on a number of silly annoying things that i should of checked, like thee hilo lock nuts not being secure the wiring under the bonnet not being sheathed, Some of my dads wiriing was dodgy, as in the main beam and dipped beam were wired the wrong way round lol, oh and a "minor" that the track rod nut wasnt done up on my side, which explain the lively steering on the way to the test center!!! doh
