Right managed to get the shafts out of the cv's with the help of a copper mallet yay, and also stripped the head down and also started to do remove the rust from the ports and then we can polish them as well. I also found out that my head is not a 12g295 head but a12g206 head

Me and my dad got the pistons back in and attached to the crank shaft and block reatached to the gear box. one thing i did find when removing the diff casing was that the bits that hold the ball bearings in have perished so i need new ones. grrrrr

well tonight i was fiddling with the gear slector box (the bit that normally goes in the exhaust tunnel) becuase i wont to mount it in the cabin freeing up room for the exhaust in the tunnel. so i was taking both the rods out of the box one was sooooo easy as its held on by one bolt and is the steady bar arm thing, the other is more difficult (although i thought it was going to be easy) and involves driffting a roll pin out from inside the selctor boxey bit.

so i was trying to drift it out and had the shaft clamped so it didnt swivel sideways when i tried to drift out the pin, but the pin didnt wont to come out, so i sprayed some GT85 on it and left it for a bit then went back to it and hit it a couple more times and then this happened.............

so no i need to buy what ever that bit is called!!!! grrrrrrr

Oh my god! I need them guages in my life!!
can you actually use the speedo one in the Mini? i'm guessing you can seeing as you have got one, but how on earth do you hook it all up to run, and then how do you over come the miles on the clock? or are you not going that route of matching the miles up?

looks like quite the early Christmas!

i havent got a clue of what the actuall miles on the clock are as the speedo didnt work when i got the car and then i changed the clocks etc to try and solve it but then realised it was the fact that the inner bit of the speedo cable was broken, basicaly to make the speedo work you need a digital sender thing, the one ive got is one that you put the speedo cable in (i shall try and get a pic) and it converts it into a digital pulse type shin dig lol

and yes it feels like christmas lol

yep i love gauges and i love digital and technology, soooooooo i thought i would mix classic outer styling (and yes you can call force split exactons classic lol) with a modern upto date interior, to make Vini.

thanks for all the comments and encouragement and i do appologise for making people lust over MY parts hehehehe
