It should give you a lot of detail including ratio.
Think mine came out at 2.95 : 1 thats on a 998, seems a good ratio for mine, good accelaration and no worries on motorways.

I've entered the engine number a few times got same results 2.95 : 1
checked a few other sources they also say 2.95 : 1
99H/997
1980 onwards A+ block, flat top pistons, economy fitment with 2.95 final drive

998 s never had 2.95 final drive!! 3.44 is probably standard but it may have the 3.1 if economy model. Note some have economy ratio drop gears fitted too.
The mini 25 had a final drive of 2.95 and that was a 998.

Some mid 80s 998 Minis had them (my Mayfair Sport too!) indeed.
MPIs got the even longer 2.76:1 FD.
Most late(ish) 998 got a 3.11:1 diff.
If you'r lucky, you find a sticker on top of the diff telling the teeth of pinion/crown wheel.
With 10" wheels I found a 3.21:1 diff ratio to be the best compromise for all purposes.
For long journeys and much motorway use a 3.11 or 2.95 is a good choice.
For acceleration & fun - 3.44 or even 3.65.
A handy tool to compare diff vs. speed&RPM is this:

he's right /\ /\
mPi is 2.76...dunno why i said 2.95. povo spec is 2.95 minis and most 998's
3.2 is metro turbo IIRC and the best allrounder.

Yepp! + some SPIs (at least german market models got them, mostly 63HP models)

After the Mini got the A+ engine in 1982, the only Minis to get the 3.44 final drive as standard were the 1990 versions of the Mini Flame Red, Racing Green and the Mini Check Mate.

and most MPI's got a 2.76:1
All Later auto's had a 2.76:1 however auto and manual crown wheel and pinion's are NOT compatible...

2.95 for A+'s on 10's
3.1 for A+'s on 12's
You could also have a 3.44 or 3.6 out of a Metro
